💡How CC Discount Codes Work

When buying tickets on the Amtrak app or at a station ticket kiosk, you have to use a discount code to have a discount applied to your purchase. CC has discount codes that can’t be used on other train lines and vice versa.

For example, when trying to use a CC code for a CZ ticket, the discount just won’t show up.
Some discounts that are available on CC have another version that can be used on other train lines (e.g. the CC student discount vs. the Amtrak student discount).
Some CC discount codes can be used on other select train lines (see below)

When purchasing tickets on the CC website, you don’t need to use the codes at checkout. You can just make the purchase on the discount’s dedicated page. This will automatically apply the discount to your purchase. You can also use CC’s booking engine and type in the given discount code.

A caveat for applying these discounts to your ticket purchase is that you can’t stack discounts. Most discounts also have a requirement stating you may need to show proof of a certain status (e.g. student ID, proof of age, etc.) to get certain discounts (e.g. student discount, senior discount, etc.)

Infants Under 2	Infants under 2 travel free with each passenger paying an adult fare.	There can only be one free infant fare per each adult passenger. Additional infants per adult travel at the child fare. For instance, if one adult travels with two infants, one infant rides free while the other rides with a child fare.
